We're for Y2K all the way. Start by gathering your hair into two high or low ponytails, securing them with hair ties. Divide each ponytail into smaller sections and tease or backcomb each section to add volume and texture. Twist each section tightly and coil it around the base of the ponytail, securing it with bobby pins. As you twist, leave the ends of the hair sticking out instead of tucking them in, creating a spiky effect. Repeat this process for each section, forming multiple spiky buns. Pull out and arrange the twisted sections to enhance the spiky look. Finish with a spritz of hairspray to keep the style intact. Bonus points if you opt for a zig-zag part!

Swoop Ponytails

The 90's trends are here to stay. We love bouncy bold hair. If you want the blowout look but don't want to add heat to your hair no worries - opt for a lace front wig. To achieve this back-to-school style begin by parting your hair into a deep side part. Take a small section of hair from the front. Gently comb or brush this section to smooth it out. Flat iron the section for an ultra-sleek look. Next, bring this section of hair across your forehead diagonally, sweeping it to the side to form the desired "swoop" effect. Use bobby pins to secure it in place at the side of your head, hiding the pins within the hair for a seamless look

To create the ponytails. Section off the hair near the crown of the head to create two ponytails in a half-up half-down style. Hide the rubber bands on the ponytail by taking a small section of hair and wrapping it around the rubber band. Pull any remaining hair through the back of the hair tie. Finish this look by using a flatiron or curling iron to flip up the ends of the two

This is perhaps the easiest style to achieve and offers a seamlessly natural look. This is a perfect everyday back-to-school hairstyle. Or if you're pressed for time this style will take anywhere between 10-20 minutes to achieve. To get a sleek and slicked-down look for your ponytail begin by gathering your hair at your desired height. Use a bristle brush to smooth out the hair. If you notice that your hair does not remain slicked down you can use a product like Got2b Glued Freeze Spray or a similar strong-hold hairspray. Lightly mist the product over your hair and blow dry the misted sections immediately. Once you're satisfied with the sleekness, gather the hair into a ponytail and secure it with a hair tie. Remember to be gentle to avoid breaking or damaging the hair.

Pull your natural hair into a small tight bun or braid. Link the ponytail hair extension by attaching the clip(s) to the top of the base ponytail. Make sure the clip is secure. Next, grab the long piece of the extension and wrap it as tightly as you can around the base of the ponytail. Use bobby pins to secure it in place. Pin back any flyaways and add your finishing touches. Learn more about how to install ponytail extensions
