UNice Girls’ Month

This year, UNice created a stylist creator club with a team of female hairstylists.
Their remarkable talent and commitment led up to their success.
And we know we had to share; a strong woman walked the unthinkable, dashing through societal expectations and breaking gender barriers.
We see them, and you hear them.

UNice Girls’ Month, we have invited some remarkable women to share their inspiring breakthrough stories.
Because a woman is more, she cannot be defined ;
she is more than life, more than her character, appearance, occupation, and gender norms.

A stereophonic in my life is that just because I’m pretty, people think I have everything easy. Because I’m an influencer ,I don’t have to work hard for the things that I have. Or my job is super easy, people don’t realise just how much effort I put into influencing how much effort put into the work that I put out there, people think it’s so easy for her! They don’t realise that just because you’re pretty you have to work even harder because people only see you at face value and will discredit what you do!

They used to tell me I can’t achieve anything. I would end up in the kitchen. Women are not good at anything but making sandwiches.I am now a  CEO to my own business, content creator and comedian.

I'm proud to be 10% of women construction company owners in a male dominated industry, 10% of black female critical care nurses and 4% of TikTok Influencers with over 100,000 followers (as a 44-year old wife & mama). I'm mostly proud to be a resilient woman who's strong enough to be myself. I enjoy breaking stereotypes!

We weren’t the ideal boy and girl couple that everyone was so comfortable with, we had face tats and the color of our skin was the not the shade America typically is pleased with...We are both 2 strong black girls in love fighting off the pressure of what we’re supposed to be. We are us. We have come so far in just being ourselves and living in our truths. Be yourself, stop labeling and placing yourself into a category...be you.

Growing up I never really felt out of place or different but I remember always never caring about what others had to say about me or how I carried myself as a girl. I thought there wasn’t a difference and if boys will be boys allow me to be me also. As an adult in social media, sometimes I feel the pressure to meet society standards but I’m not standard. I don’t want to. I don’t care. I won’t ever care. I hope one day my talents will be beautiful enough to surpass whatever the standard is. I won’t change.

Since I grew up in an area with not many people with dark skin like mine my mom always told me people will think a certain way about me. People call me loud, dumb, and don’t believe I’m capable of many things. I’ve simply had to prove them wrong by having an exceptional vocabulary and tone. I’ve also invested myself in academics and sports so I now have a 4.3 GPA and am a member of a varsity team.

I am a teacher and I fight against the stereotypes of what a teacher should look like in appearance, hair and clothing. Often brighter hair colors are frowned upon. I am wearing my red and black hair.

Everyday I work hard as a nurse and single mom. I am also someone who loves to have new hair and wear wigs! I am not only a party girl or a professional. I am a woman that has many different aspects of myself.

I was always the type of kid who wanted to go to school looking nice with the newest outfits and hairstyles, but we couldn't afford that. When I got to high school, I got into cosmetology for hair and always came up with the cutest styles. We had a hair contest in class and our teacher told us, "Whoever wins will get the wig." I won and ended up getting the wig but couldn't afford a stylist. I watched multiple YouTube videos but still couldn't get it right. I kept practicing on the same wig until I got it right! I was so happy then I found out about Unice, so I got a job at my nearest Walmart and worked hard. I started buying wigs and everything I could ever imagine for me and my family. I started doing their hair and later turned into a hair stylist.

I’m a 6’2 female and I used to be so ashamed of my height. I’d crouch down in pictures to look short, walk fast and hide my face. Even was picked on for it for some time until I realized, I’m a gorgeous tall girl with a beautiful body & a high self–esteem. I learned to live in my skin and insecurities and now I’m unstoppable.
