How to take care of Brazilian hair extension

Step 1:Weft Extensions Installation

  • One key aspect of caring for your weft extensions is the installation method. To ensure that your weft extensions do not shed after installation, we strongly recommend that you instruct your stylist to observe and follow these key points:
  • Do not put a needle through the wefts or pierce the wefts. If installing a sew-in weave, sew in the wefts by looping and tying the weave thread under and over the weft in a blanket stitch method:
  • Do not split the wefts
  • Do not cut the wefts. Avoid cutting the wefts. If you have to cut the wefts, seal each cut weft end with weft glue.

Step 2:Post Installation Maintenance

  • Once natural virgin hair is cut from a donor's head, it stops receiving much-needed nutrients that nourish and keeps the hair soft, shiny & tangle-free. It's therefore vitally important to maintain and treat your natural hair extensions with the appropriate maintenance products that will restore/maintain its natural softness, silk and keep it tangle-free.
  • Proper maintenance care using the appropriate product range will ensure that your hair extensions keep its luster and last you for a long time. We recommend you use mild shampoos & conditioners; preferably sulfate-free and silicone free hair care products.

Step 3:Shampoo Virgin Brazilian Weave

  • Distribute a generous amount of Shampoo through your entire scalp and massage your scalp with the tips of your fingers (not your fingernails). Gently, shampoo the hair in a downward motion, working shampoo from the top down. This rubbing action and the resultant friction will loosen dirt, product residue, and dandruff which can then be rinsed away. Thoroughly rinse your scalp afterward, still massaging with your fingertips as you do so.

Step 4:Coloring and Bleaching  Hair

  • All of our weaves are made out of 100% human virgin Remy hair, which means that they are able to be colored or bleached to virtually any color at all. At the same time, it's important to remember that coloring and bleaching are both chemical-type processes that can remove moisture from hair, including hair extensions, which will make them dry.
  • If you are someone who has either natural wave or straight hairstyles, you will have more freedom to undergo either of these processes since these particular weaves do not undergo any form of processing.

Step 5:Use light-based conditioner

  • Distribute conditioner with wide tooth comb evenly and thoroughly before washing. Do not use your fingers!Leave on for the duration of bath or shower, then rinse.Always comb your hair from the bottom up.

Step 6:About Styling

  • Always keep your extensions tangle free. Brush or comb gently and avoid any excess tension. Always comb or brush hair from the bottom up, small sections at a time. The more careful you treat your extensions the longer they will last. Support your attachment when brushing or combing your hair.

Step 7:Drying Brazilian Hair

  • The most general rule of thumb states that it's best to allow your hair to naturally dry instead of using something such as a hairdryer. This is especially the case if you are wearing a weave that is either curly or wavy. Use a clean towel to pat your hair dry after you wash it. Afterward, you should let the rest of your hair dry naturally. If you absolutely need to use a hairdryer, use a medium setting to minimize heat exposure.

Step 8:Sleeping With Weaves

  • If you have either natural wave or straight weaves, be sure to tie these down and use either a silk or satin cap to cover your hair before going to bed at night.Before going to sleep, you should:
  • Braid your hair into a large loose braid at the back of neck;
  • Undo braid after waking up and dampen it by spraying it with a water bottle;
  • Comb through the hair, starting at the ends and moving upward;
  • Let hair air dry, then style as you wish.

Do's and Dont's

  • DO always seal your wefts. This is not an option but rather a priority and should be done prior to any install.
  • DO not split the weft. Although many stylists like to do this - please know that splitting wefts are not necessary and will do more harm to the hair than good.
  • DO clip the ends of the hair every 6/8 weeks or at time of re-install
  • DON'T cut the wefts. If you cut the wefts, seal each end with weft glue right away.
  • DON'T use bristle brushes as they tend to latch onto hair fibers and rip them from the weft.
  • DON'T tie your hair back or pin up too tightly and never when it is wet. This pulls and stretches the hair wefts, causing it to shed and split.
